The Nez Perce Tribe Lead Outreach Program will provide tribal education and outreach to the rural communities located on the Nez Perce Tribal Reservation. This will be accomplished through community and school activities, Tribal environmental and health gatherings/fairs/conferences, the development and production of an informational video, pre and post surveys on the knowledge of the effects of exposure to lead-based paint and related hazards and media tools such as posters, brochures, and a website.
In developing this program we will keep the Tribe aware of our activities by providing the communities information we develop and obtain through EPA. We feel the Nez Perce Tribe and its tribal members, communities and partners will benefit greatly from being able to prevent and address childhood lead poisoning through partnerships in the communities. In developing awareness and partnerships, the communities will have a stronger relationship with the partnerships and a better understanding of health risk prevention.
