The Water Resources Division feels it is important for our tribal and community members, partners and other government entities to be informed of the wide range of projects in our department. Our staff has developed media tools to illustrate the importance of water resources to the Nez Perce Tribe’s sustainability, culture and the health of the people, salmon, flora and wildlife.
Staff provide outreach and education through community events, i.e., Nez Perce Tribal Housing Authority’s annual Home Fair in Kamiah and Lapwai, Ni-Mii-Puu Health’s Health Fairs in Kamiah, Lapwai and Orofino. We present yearly reports at the annual Spring and Fall General Council. We have provided conferences and trainings and have worked with local students.
